Fundación Secretariado Gitano
The Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSG) is an intercultural, non-profit social organization that has been working for over 40 years to promote the progress of the Roma people through social advancement, recognition, and the defense of Roma rights from an intercultural approach.
If you would like to join the team of volunteers, you can collaborate in the following areas of action:
El voluntariat amb la UOC, un plus al teu currículum
- Education: You can provide support with school reinforcement tasks for Roma children and adolescents, offer individual or group educational tutoring, participate in awareness-raising activities in schools, etc.
- Employment: You can assist in socio-occupational orientation processes, support digital skills training, design materials for inclusive employment pathways, etc.
- Social Inclusion: You can take part in community intervention activities, educational leisure, support for people in situations of social vulnerability, healthy habits workshops, etc.
- Equality and the fight against discrimination: You can collaborate in awareness sessions, create communication content focused on rights advocacy, design materials with an intercultural perspective, etc.
Additionally, there is a volunteer track more focused on the internal and collective life of the organization, aiming to strengthen its social base. In this space, volunteers can engage in organizational tasks, support awareness and social communication campaigns, or participate in commemorative events and representation spaces such as the National Volunteer Coordination Network.
All volunteer actions will take place mainly in person at FSG offices (with the possibility of remote collaboration depending on the task).
You will also take part in a training program through the FSG’s online campus, where you will receive education on interculturality, and the history and culture of the Roma People.
