The mission of this Catalan non-profit association is to foster social integration and equal opportunities and improve the quality of life of young people who are current or previous wards of court who are at risk of social exclusion, by providing them with support while establishing a life for themselves after they leave the centres where they lived while under the wardship of the Government of Catalonia.

Mentoring and volunteering programmes:

Referents Project

The young person is offered the chance to meet a UOC volunteer who provides them with emotional, recreational and linguistic support; support with gaining employment, in their studies, in the search for housing and in enhancing their skills and abilities; and an expansion of their social network. 

Duration: 9 months, with professional monitoring by the specialist from the project.

Atenea Project

A project aimed at improving the training level of young people, through skills work and social mentoring.

Duration: minimum 8 months with professional monitoring by the technical person of the project.

Time availability for Referents and Atenea Projects:

  • 10 hours of initial training
  • 2 hours/week for meetings between the young person and the UOC mentor (flexible schedule depending on the availability of both)
  • 2 hours per month of group monitoring of volunteering (work on self-awareness, transversal skills and young people's communication skills, knowledge of training resources and guidance for their professional future).

“Acull” Project

“Acull” project for young people who have been taken out or are in a situation of social vulnerability of migrant origin and without family references in the territory.

The project offers the environment, the emotional bond and the ideal context for the young people who decide to do so to make a qualitative leap in the process of emancipation from daily accompaniment, with intensive emotional support in the face of difficulties

Duration: 9-month stay of a young person in a family environment, with technical support and accompaniment for young people and volunteers in their role, process and coexistence.

Time availability: 8 hours of initial training, daily space for coexistence at home (usually around meals) and 2 bimonthly hours of follow-up volunteering, to be determined according to the availability of the participants.

Locations of all projects: Barcelonès, Baix Llobregat, Maresme and Vallès Occidental. In the case of the Atenea project, they are being developed in Barcelonès and Baix Llobregat. The selection interviews, initial training for volunteering, meetings for the assignment of the partner and volunteer follow-up sessions take place in Barcelona, ​​Mataró or Sabadell depending on the territory and the project.

Recognition of volunteer activities

If you are enrolled on a bachelor's degree, you can apply for credit recognition for your volunteer time as long as you have participated with one of our partner organizations.
