Voluntarios por Otro Mundo is an entity which is main project is the "Jóvenes extutelados" project for young people leaving the care system, although it also provides help and support for elderly people suffering abuse at the hands of their relatives and for inmates enjoying a more open prison regime towards the end of their sentence, as well as healthcare assistance for children in Morocco and legal advice.

Programme for young people leaving the care system: This project aims to help young people at risk of social exclusion due to the sudden helplessness resulting from the withdrawal of the state's protection on turning 18. Beneficiaries may remain in the programme for a maximum of two years, leaving when they become fully independent, although they can stay for longer if appropriate in view of the specific circumstances of their own personal life project.
Description of the volunteering opportunity: Volunteers will provide general practical and emotional support to young people leaving the care system so that they can embark on their emancipation journey and became members of mainstream society. We are looking for university graduates and students, mainly with social education, psychology and law backgrounds, to help young people leaving the care system who are at risk of social exclusion to become fully integrated in society, enjoy equal opportunities and improve their quality of life, supporting them in their emancipation process. Priority will be given to helping them with the process of bringing their legal documentation up to date, improving their Spanish language skills and encouraging them to take part in training courses, as well as motivating them to follow a path of independence leading to greater employment opportunities. Spoken knowledge of Arabic and French will be considered a plus.
Number of available places: 5-10.
The volunteering work will be carried out in the following places: Seville, Bahía de Cádiz and Jerez de la Frontera.
Required availability: 2 hours per week. There is morning and afternoon work available, with flexibility to negotiate the most convenient schedule with the organization.
Duration of the volunteering placement (from start to finish): ideally one academic year.
